We have the Storz & Bickel replacement O-rings to ensure solid valve functionality, as the quality of the originals deteriorates when they are torn or dirty. The spring tightens the balloon seal to a solid value, and the rest of the replacement pack is used to tighten the seal of the different parts of the valve.
